For customers within the EU, Switzerland and Norway, we offer a custom RS232 cable designed for the use with Docklight Monitoring Mode. You can purchase the cable in our E-Shop, in the same way you order a Docklight license.

The Docklight Monitoring Cable is an electrically and mechanically rugged solution for industrial applications. The Docklight monitoring approach allows full-duplex monitoring, so each data direction is fed to a separate monitoring channel / COM port.

If this is not what you need, or you are outside the EU, you can of course put together your own cable. An inexpensive solution is using flat ribbon cable and SUB D9 insulation displacement connectors, available at any local provider. See below for a wiring diagram.

Common data taps as the Blackbox FA148A can be used, too, but they usually provide monitoring for half-duplex operation only.

TIP: If you are looking for a compact USB solution, have a look at our Docklight Tap.
