Can I use Docklight to test Bluetooth applications

Applies to: Docklight (all versions), Article ID: dl_faq032

There are two types of Bluetooth applications that are supported by Docklight and Docklight Scripting.

1) Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP)

A Bluetooth Serial Port is accessible in Windows in the same way as a RS232 or Virtual Serial Port connection. Docklight and Docklight Scripting have also been extensively tested in the past with a commonly available Bluetooth setup. You can find very detailed information and step-by-step examples in the Docklight Bluetooth Application Note below.

If you are experiencing problems with your specific Bluetooth COM port application, we would be happy to hear about it and help you troubleshoot.

2) Bluetooth Human Interface Device (HID) Profile

Dockligtht Scripting supports access to USB and Bluetooth HID devices via Output Reports, Input Reports and Feature Reports. See the related FAQ for more details and examples.
