One some rare COM port configurations, querying the HARDWAREDEVICEMAPSERIALCOMM part of the Windows registry seems to take a long time, especially since Docklight iterates through all available values.
Please install and use our latest Docklight release to fix the problem. It contains an extra timeout, so after 5-6 seconds max. the Project Settings dialog terminates the HARDWAREDEVICEMAPSERIALCOMM query and presents the results so far.
Please note this could also mean that a COM port previously shown as available in the “Comm. Channel” dropdown menu might not be included any more. You can still type in the COM port name manually, e.g. “COM25” and access it without restrictions.
